About Our Owner
Jennifer Sheremeta
Owner, Fat Body Performance
Jennifer is a 36-year-old entrepreneur, automotive expert, and relentless advocate for overcoming adversity. Diagnosed with Lupus at age 10 and kidney failure later in life, she underwent a kidney transplant in 2023 that unfortunately failed, leading her to start home hemodialysis in July 2023. Despite spending 12 hours weekly on dialysis, she continues to run her automotive specialty shop, Fat Body Performance, while pursuing her passion for high-performance engineering.
In a remarkable display of resilience, Jennifer designed and built a racecar in 2023—after her transplant failed and dialysis began. This project not only underscores her technical mastery but also her ability to innovate under extraordinary physical and emotional strain. Her hands-on experience is showcased at premier racing events like LS Fest, Sick Week, Streetcar Takeover, and Sick the Magazine-sponsored competitions, where she tests and refines her shop’s performance innovations.
Closer to home, Jennifer is a regular at Bradenton Motorsports Park, where she hones her skills during Runday Sundays and Test & Tune Thursdays—proving that her dedication to the craft extends beyond the shop floor. These events serve as both a proving ground for Fat Body Performance’s custom engine builds and a platform to connect with fellow enthusiasts.
Fat Body Performance thrives under her leadership, serving a loyal and growing clientele with custom engine builds, diagnostics, and precision upgrades. Jennifer’s vision extends beyond the garage: she plans to launch mentorship programs for women and disabled individuals, breaking barriers in a male-dominated industry.
Her story is one of triumph—proving that chronic illness cannot throttle ambition, innovation, or the pursuit of speed.
